I contributed to the book titled “Managing Mountain Biking: IMBA’s Guide to Providing Great Riding” which was edited by Pete Weber and published by the International Mountain Biking Association in 2007.
In one article, I covered the issue of mountain bike access on existing trails, including what kind of questions interested mountain bikers would need to ask their land managers in the process of trying to open a local trail to riding.
In another, I chronicled the partnership of different types of trail users to manage trail use and access in a city park – the Wissahickon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Finally, I also covered the efforts of locals to maintain and build trails in the Big South Fork National Park in Tennessee at a time when National Parks were just becoming more open to the possibility of trail access by mountain bikers.
